Committment

S.T. Wooten Corporation insists on practices and procedures that weave a tight web of safety for both our individual employees and the community, making our company a place that both employees and customers can trust. Our President promotes safety more than anyone in the company, and his dedication is reflected in the commitment of all senior management.

Safety begins by remaining in strict compliance with all regulations of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration as well as the Mining, Safety and Health Administration; that commitment continues with hard hat and safety vest requirements for employees along with roll bars and backup alarms on equipment. At project sites, each day begins with an all-crew meeting to discuss the job's hazards and safety protocol.

With an emphasis on training and accountability, our safety program is a model for the industry. We are constantly seeking to heighten awareness and compliance through weekly safety inspections, annual safety training, and required OSHA classes for all foremen, superintendents and other supervisors.

Record

Using the industry-standard Experience Modification Rate (EMR) scale to indicate our safety performance, our company holds an excellent rating of 0.67 -- 33 percent better than the national EMR contractor average of 1.00. Ratings are computed using a formula that takes the total number of employee hours worked in a year and the total number of injuries incurred to produce an "incidence rate."

S.T. Wooten Corporation has also been recognized with several Presidential and Merit-level National Safety Awards by the Carolinas chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America.

We consider the most significant reward for our safety standards to be the trust and confidence of our employees and customers.

Count on S.T. Wooten Corporation to emphasize safety in every location, on every job and with every employee.
