S.T. Wooten, Sr. started his business in 1952 in a small building beside his home in Stantonsburg, North Carolina. He spent long hours working on farm equipment, building small trailers and eventually digging irrigation ponds for local farmers.

By the late 1950s, the business had broadened into grading and paving throughout the Southeast. In the 1970s and 1980s, the business further diversified, adding manufacturing facilities, utilities, structures and concrete products.

Today, S.T. Wooten Corporation is headed by S.T. Wooten, Jr. and consists of eight operating divisions:

• Quality Concrete
• Ready Mix Concrete
• Heavy Grade
• Structures
• Utilities

The Corporate Office is located in Wilson, North Carolina, with additional locations throughout the state, including:

• 8 Area Offices
• 13 Asphalt Plants
• 17 Ready Mix Concrete Plants
