The S.T. Wooten Corporation is proud to announce its expansion into the Southwest Florida market with our newest – and perhaps greenest – asphalt plant facility, located in the Fort Myers-Naples area. The plant is now on-line and in daily operation, while the on-site office and equipment shop are slated for spring completion.

Featuring Astec’s latest Double-Barrel “green” drum injection system – a system used by four of our North Carolina plants – this state-of-the-art facility incorporates an increased percentage of recycled materials in the asphalt mix. This process ultimately produces asphalt at temperatures that are typically 50-80 degrees cooler than conventional hot-mix. This asphalt, in turn, requires less burner fuel and produces significantly lower emissions, both at the plant and at the job-site as well as other environmental benefits.

As you travel down the tree-lined drive to the load-out area, you can see this asphalt plant is like no other. The site itself features extensive tree and shrub plantings, water-conserving irrigation systems, a Florida Bald Cypress preserve with indigenous planting area and even an on-site preserve for a population of endangered “Gopher Tortoise.” Dedicated to raising industry standards of not only environmental sustainability but also community stewardship, S.T.
